THE NIGHT OF DISASTERS.....

TREMORS ...quakes and shakes

it was 1 am in the morning and the time when i felt a real earthquake for the first time in my life. i was lying on bed and was preparing to get some sleep and that's when i felt as if my bed was trembling and the door was shaking ; which led me to believe as if i have lost my mind .But soon i realized that it was an frigging earthquake and not a mere delusion or hallucination of mine. and then, panic was the feeling of moment.consequently ,i opened my room and found other scared and perturbed people standing outside their rooms ; and to get my confirmed belief reaffirmed .

DESI DISASTER MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

with people getting hysterical ,soon the scene became of complete chaos and pandemonium with some considering on taking a very wise step of packing their laptops and then running away to stadium . after all, this cheap earthquake would also think twice before crashing down on this Rs. 40,000 helmet (of laptop) .a good disaster coping strategy, one should say.

and then others were pondering on jumping off the second floor , to save themselves from this quake devil which was all set to take their cherished lives. Since this was going to cost only a few bones of their legs , but ultimately they would come out alive ;thence this was still not a bad idea.

and then there were some who were just sleeping, indifferent to everything which was going on, and at the same time losing the opportunity to feel the Rourkela quake, for which they were going to repent the next morning.

but soon solace came to the frenzied souls ,for now the quake subsided .but still everything wasn't normal, because more such quakes ( aftershocks) would come, asserted a few sharp minds. And further they exposited on the hidden vulnerability
in the idea of going back to rooms. and the only option left was to spent the whole night on the roads, they concluded .

CUMULATIVE CATASTROPHES

and then we came to know about the origin of these goddamn quakes. Twitter was full of tweets that said something about a quake in Andaman islands of Richter scale 7.6 .Also we came to know that a quake also came in japan and tsunami also came.and all of this caused me to believe that the end of world was near .according to me ,there was a good possibility that a large share of population was decimated on this single night full with cumulative disasters.

but the tsunami was just a half meter high and the quake didn't decimated people.Must say a good ending ,but then its said that until and unless something tragic happens a ending isn't there.and same happened here with this episode ending with the death of a NITian, who bumped his motorcycle in a tata indica.

The LAPTOP THEFT : yet another disaster

Recently the theft of two laptops and other items which amounted to a total of Rs . 90,000 was another setback to the reputation of NIT-r ( which is only thing it has )
and this deplorable happening necessitates the very need of some solid action by the hitherto stolid authorities which are proving to be as incompetent and unproductive as the Red tapism in the country.

a nice and humorous post describing
the circumstances that night.above all this the post is a difference from the slightly negative and pessimistic ideology of the preceding posts
